TWIST or JIVE ? THE RELATION BETWEEN BILINGUAL CHILDREN’S TWO LANGUAGES
When children learn to understand and speak two languages, there is the obvious question of what the relation is between them. Do they develop at a similar pace ? Do they develop separately, or is there a large degree of interdependence ? This talk looks at these questions based on evidence from lexical and grammatical development in young children growing up with two languages from birth.
